Despite apparent inadequate headlight pattern for night riding, that's some nicely wheel-rolled sheet metal, right down to rather distinct BMW style grille, faired-in clearance for front tire, all from elongating profile of gas tank, the R18 parentage still visible.
Most Beemers are good looking bikes, decidedly Teutonic but handsome.
Unless R1200c are considered; yikes! A motive glob of warts and super glue....https://www.google.com/search?client...&q=2001+r1200c

Yeah some of the modern ones are fugly but the R-18 is pretty nice...although I'm not entirely sure about a BMW with Ape hangers

Clever twist, looks like a hardtail, but it isn't. Our butts thank them for that...

Took a peek. Apehangers are there for the poser crowd, along with the chee-ep looking stamped exhaust. I don't mind the wire fatboy wheel setup, the softail effort or single seat furniture. Overall slick enough, but at odds with the performance modes. Bikes should be built to run, and modded by the user who'll sacrifice the warranty.

Honestly my Platonic ideal of a BMW is a 1969-70 R-60 :-) A neighbor had one when I was a kid, I really wanted one when I grew up. Got close, I ended up with a 1972 Moto Guzzi Ambassador. Very sweet ride.
