Boats and planes have a lot in common when you consider that a boat's sail is an airfoil, just like a plane's wing. Of course airboats don't have sails, but they have propellers.

This Glen-L Airboat, built by Charles Bailhache on Glen-L.com, includes an electric trolling motor, and cruises nicely in shallow water and on mud, up to 40mph.
