There was no driver in the truck
Printable View
Had an old lady hit the gas instead of the brake and ran into one of our buildings. Almost made it through the wall.
What? Why? This one of the strangest stupidish things I have seen.
Barriers have to be real world tested before they will be approved for use.
going almost frame by frame there is no evidence there ever was a driver in the truck. At least not from as far back as you can see. A driver probably had tied the steering wheel got the truck rolling to a reasonable speed to jump out pulled the throttle on his way out the door inertia and diesel fuel would have taken care of the rest.
For a more real world test the truck should have been fully loaded. It is one thing to stop an empty truck weighing around 10 tons quite another to stop one weighing 30 tons, but had the barrier failed to stop a fully loaded truck then there is no telling what might have happened
truck looked empty to me..
I hope the passenger wasn't hurt when the driver jumped out...
If you stop the video at the end the barrier wall looks to have sustained significant damage possibly enough that a fully loaded truck might have made it through but it wouldn't be going anywhere afterwards
no driver - remote control
Thanks, makes it more interesting.
