Boring/ grooving bar

I needed to make a wide groove in the bore of another tool I am making so that I can use that tool to finish another tool that actually I made over 3 years ago.
the only thing was while I have several small boring bars I didn't have a bar that I could use for making a groove inside of a bore.
So I started off with milling a slot in a piece of 1" 1018 round bar then off center drilled it for a place to weld in a nut. I should have drilled it before I made the slot but it didn't matter that much.
