    I think you guys dont understand. Before that machine was invented no one needed a man to operate and automatic bread buttering machine! Now that guy has a job! There maybe hundreds of people employed in a factory building automatic bread buttering machines now. Then of course think of all the sales people now having a product to sell.

    Make a lot of grilled cheese or grilled ham sandwiches on a production scale
    Brilliant idea now let's see if that cook complains the buttered bread doesn't arrive fast enough or has too much/ too little butter on it

    I have never bought pre-buttered bread. I have never seen pre-buttered bread, except heat-and-eat garlic bread. I have gotten buttered toast at restaurants, but they didn't have one of those...

    But think of all the professional bread butterers it put out of work. Before that machine there were rooms full of people rapidly putting precision layers of butter on bread trying to keep up to the demand. Worldwide it must have put tens of people out of work!
