Brian in Brazil
Hello everyone!
I am an American citizen, living in Brazil. It's a great place to live, but of course, there are some difficulties. Traditionally, tools were either very very expensive, high quality industrial models, or expensive, but very poor quality amateur models. Recently, some typical amateur models are appearing, for about twice the price of the same thing in the US.
So, I like homemade tools. I have made a disk sander, and am working on a little lathe. I have to make another headstock disk for it. I had made one of MDF but it came apart. I will post some pictures and ask you all for ideas.
I have some more ideas but I will save them for later.
Cheers!

Hi Brian - welcome to HomemadeTools.net :welcome:
Sounds like you'll fit in well here. Do you guys get Amazon Prime in Brazil?

I don't know. What's Amazon prime? If it's a TV show, I gave up on TV. We had cable for a while, but we didn't use it enough to be worth the money, so we dumped it. Then we stopped watching altogether. I told my wife, it was just bringing negative energy into the house. And we haven't missed it.
More recently, I visited the US and brought back a Chromecast. That was worth it. Now I can watch Izzy Swan and Steve Ramsey on the big screen!
Cheers,

Ah, I think they have TV shows available with Amazon Prime, but it's generally just an Amazon shipping service. You pay a yearly fee of around $100, and then most items ship 2-day, at no additional cost. It's as addicting as TV, but genuinely useful.
