    Nice and simple but effective. I'd put a thread spool held by one screw on each handwheel for a knob to move them faster when I have a long way to go.

    Wooden spools for threads

    Thanks for giving me a reason not to empty the plastic cashew nut jar foll of wood thread spools I have sitting in my shop. I'll make a couple of little arbors out of long screws nuts and washers to hold them in a lathe or just by hand and leave them in the jar. This would make a neat simple gift for a woodworker friend. EdW
