    Building a large shop fan

OK living in Florida gets hot during the summer months. So a large fan would be really helpful. My Dad found the fan blades and shroud at a yard sale. I welded 1"x 1" by 1/8" square tubing frame together to build a frame. Added 3 wheels to the bottom to wheel it around. Than the motor base was built and welded in. Bought some horse fence and made guards for front and back. Rip down some plywood to build both sides and top. Now the fan sits on Mom and Dads porch and keeps them cool all summer.

As we have seen in other work your care and quality are indisputable.
    Congratulations.

Just an idea to improve your project, add a humidify to lower the temperature so you can use as an air conditioner, improving air humidity.

My dad did that later on to his second fan but thank you and yes a bit of water helps a lot.

Perfect timing! I was looking for a similar setup for automotive aerodynamic purposes. Thanks for sharing Vernon.

DIYer I like to see the fan run at 172.5 RPM so if your motor runs at 1725 Divide that by 10 is 172.5 rpm can run it faster but I hate the noise. Just want to move air not chop at it.
