    maybe it is for people on a diet! They cut your hamburger patty in half to reduce your fat intake!

    Its not splitting the patties the wire is shearing off the patties from the rotating drum press.
    Never try to tell me it can't be done

    The wire strips the burger from the UHMW (probably Delrin) roller. The follower cleans off bits of residue from the wire.

    Na just take 2 patties lightly sear 1 side flip them add cheese to 1 then lay the other on top press them together the finish cooking like a regular thick burger you have the same effect and the raw blood does not infuse with the cheese
    but I prefer schnitzel cordon bleu
