    Hi JON Why make a center punch from wire rope because you can...From the looks of your shop and your craftsmanship I think you are the real deal....Having been in the crafts all my very long life I can spot a brother without a problem....Keep up the very good work and GOD bless

    It is fun to watch someone who knows what they are doing and make it look easy.

    I have never used coal. What little "blacksmithing" I have done has been with gas. It seems like burying the work in the burning hot coals heats up more quickly and without the "roar" of a gas fired forge. I bought a couple of bags of "nut coal" to play with when tractor supply had it over winter. I have also seen wood fired forges. I have LOTS of wood to burn. But have not had time yet to play with any of it.

    Just curious.
