Most people don't know how to operate their toaster, and basic things in their house like a water heater is just indecipherable magic. If they ever got a flat in the middle of nowhere they'd just lay down and die rather than attempting to change a tire. If they understood what four wheel drive was for I would be astounded.

I live on the side of a big steep hill. My truck will dig holes in my driveway if I leave it in 2wd because the driveway is so horrendous. Getting to my house is basically offroading. The transfer case on my truck gets exercised about a half dozen times a day.
