They are intelligent, teachable and observant; but hungrier than bright. Can also tell you, won't be a minute after first one starves, cannibalistic behavior ensues.

I have a metal mesh rat trap. If I dont drown the rats within an hour or 2 they just chew their way out.
I cant see that plastic bucket lasting very long.....

2'' of water in the bucket will kill them very quickly, they have no swimming endurance.
