    Come on get real. If the screw was tight the method shown would just unscrew like a nut, if the screw was loose then a pair of pliers would unscrew it easily. A ground/filed/sawed flat on the screw would be in with a chance that a moderately tight screw could be undone by this method.

    Looks (0:01) like there is a flat on the screw, but not deep enough?

    Also, this method would probably discolor the wood or at least the steam created from the heat would damage the wood.

    I have used vise grips on this kind of situation many a time with great success...

    I drop a washer over the screw, then clamp on the vise grips, washer prevents the vise grips from marring the wood. Looks like he used Cerro Safe® or "WoodsMetal"® low melting points, Cerro Safe melts at 158 degrees, but still would probably discolor the wood even when quickly cooled.
    I use it in the gun shop to remove really stuck cases from rifle chambers that the head of the case has ripped off, really handy for that.
