    Looks like the lath detached from the ceiling above & then the staples or finish nails, likely from an air or battery powered gun, pulled out of the lath & the crash. The system was strong but the individual connections were relatively weak. Something came loose & weighted the connections next to it & those connections sagged, so on & so on.
