That has to be the cleanest ditch I have seen, of course I have never worked in clean soil. Even on Long Island which is basically sand there always are random good size rocks. and lots of stones.

The cutters on that big trencher just grind up a lot of the rocks.
I have always been fascinated how it is that the rocks always end up right middle of the trench. They are often just the right size to be imbedded in both sides. Like ...when those rocks finally decided to stop rolling around and settle in one place...how did they KNOW than 1,000's of years later, I was going to need a trench right in that exact spot!!!!???
