A sailer in northern Michigan used a small chainsaw, attached to his iceboat, to get back home when the wind quit.

A friend of mine, Dudley, who i haven't seen for years, was requested to chainsaw the early ice that had trapped whales, with young calves near the pole so he loaded several very long bared chainsaws and spares and flew there only to find he wasn't permitted to use oil. (Apparently the adult wales will not leave their young in order to save them selves.)
Anyway, he set up a team to sharpen the teeth as he cut big rectanglar ice cubes from the ice allowing the wales to move as judged by experts. It is/was believed that all wales and the calves survived ( unlike his chainsaw teeth LOL). It was incredible watching his home movie : lots of our woodworking club buddies were in awe.

    cheers

Why is there no ice spray? Why are there no skate marks?

I am a life long DN ice sailor, there should be tracks.
