Unnecessarily complicated, limited to small pieces and pretty flimsy. I am sorry to be so disparaging but chainsaws are dangerous and equipment needs to be solid and safe.
I did appreciate the trick that turned lengths of angle iron into a semi-circle, though. That was snappy.
Well we disagree then. I cut a bit of wood and that thing is downright dangerous, hard to use and can omy hold small sticks. There are many better designs. I ave built a stronger version of the Smart Holder : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZbMbxUImbI and the biggest log to date was nearly 20" at the butt 14" at the tip and about 20' long, cut with ease and very safely. It can also hold limbs for bucking before cutting and my back thanks me every time I use it.
There are a number of even simpler devices that could be knocked up from scrap that are stronger, safer and simpler.
When cutting wood speed is of the essence.
