Great tip Rick

But I also find that unpacking a new blade can be hazardous. If yours, like mine, come coiled and wire tied uncoiling can be painful, even with gloves. I find that undoing the tie then throwing the coil on the floor works for me. It can twist about well away from me.

I found a number of YouTube videos showing us how to pack and unpack a bandsaw blade. Tried it and found the technique easy and well controlled. Must wear gloves and at least eye protection.

Rick, I learned from a mentor in our family timber business in N Calif in the early 70s. We had a small cabinet shop with a Unisaw and a vintage 26" Crescent bandsaw...108" rings a bell...He could fold a blade in 3 by a quick wrist rotation to the middle....and he'd look you in the eye and say, Jimmy, I'm gonna show you this just one more time...thanks again Ralph, and RIP...

I like your method of using the Velcro better than my method of a pair of large binder clips to hold the blade on to the top of the top wheel, thanks Rick!
Will pick up those Velcro ties at Wallworld tomorrow, I know right where they are!

Nice solution, I'll have to remember this trick.
It can be super frustrating at the worst possible moment.
(somebody watching over your shoulder...)

Sometime problems can be solved with the silliest little things.
