    Charles Hatfield aka "the Rainmaker" - photo

    Charles Hatfield aka "the Rainmaker" preparing his concoctions. c. 1915. In 1916, Hatfield offered the city of San Diego to fill Lake Morena with rain for $10,000. Heavy rains soon followed, flooding the rest of the county and killing over 50 people.

    Well it is not an exact science you know. I cant just tell it to rain in one spot and not in another
