Chicken egg color spectrum - photo

The eggs our chickens lay are generally 4 rows from bottom right and 4 rows up with every once in a while, 7 rows from the right 2 rows up almost always Jumbo or super jumbo size won't fit in many of the egg cartons jane can easily fetch $ 6.00 a dozen and hear lately folks would pay 8 bucks if our hens were laying enough to sell very many during the winter months

Does feed or diet change the color or is it more the breed of chicken that affects color?

In some cases both, but chickens with red ears will almost always lay eggs of the brownish color. Depending on the time of the year my free range chickens will lay darker eggs due to the amount and types of insects available to them and the plants they eat we supplement their diet with various brands of laying pellet feeds and crushed oyster shells in an attempt to maintain egg production it doesn't always help much in winter months as production will nearly always fall off
