The trucks probably use LIDAR. so they are fully autonomous. They do get in trouble quite often though and I've seen them run over gigantic spill rock from the back of another truck.

You'd think with all the cheap labor in China that these trucks will be mostly exported to other countries. I saw much larger Caterpillar versions of these roll by me in my rotary blast drill every day six years ago at a BC mine. A good operator can easily out perform these if a hot shift change is used. Also note the number of people controlling these thing. If they have the same benefits and pension plan as the drivers they replaced, it a zero-sum game.
