    I was asked to include a bend allowance formula for making bends in sheet metal.
    However when heating the metal and hammer forging it into the final shape over a die an anvil or a mandrel the metal becomes compressed and thinned from the process
    Here is an article explaining the bend allowances in normal processing such as press breaks. the formula will not work in hammer forging without a controlled consistant striking force being added to the calculations though.
