Hi karoly
Have you checked the open source software on the sourceforge site?
https://sourceforge.net/directory/os...rduino%20ramps
Your'e most welcome, I hope you find something suitable to use.
I spend my time viewing the GRBL pages at GitHub. You should be able to find all of your answers there as well as the GitHub Forum.
Agreed, GRBL is probably the best place to start. Forget the 3D printer software implementations - their movement planner is totally different.
I am curious, though as to why you want to use a hardware platform that is so limited in purpose. I hope it isn't cost - there are several platforms that are within the ballpark of that one that provide so much better capability and have some software support ready to go. CNC on raspberry pi comes to mind.
I would have gone with the Raspberry Pi but I couldn't find an appropriate shield. Instead I went with a Gecko G540 and a UCCNC 100 Controller and the UCCNC Control Software. I have Mach3 but it's much harder to setup and it is't compatible with newer computers.
You can't go wrong with a G540, I use one myself with Mach3. Don't know much about the UCCNC, but I've heard good things about it. Good Luck!
Why don't you use LinuxCNC? LinuxCNC is the other fork of the original NIST code base. Mach3 and LinuxCNC are both derivatives of the same source. Just LinuxCNC is updated, and Mach3 isn't.
