Coaxial wire stripping machine - video
-
I've got one of the old Teledyne hot strippers that was used in the old Shuttle program. Bought it when everything was closed down and sold off. Works VERY well.
The only other things I have left from those days are my soldering iron controller I built for my bench and a metal label off the Shuttle Main Engine Controller.
Oh, and somewhere I still have my inspection stamp.

so it only strips off an inch at a time ??? i get co ax in long lengths and it goes right into the trash..

This is stripping to USE the wire. Not all wire is made simply to be stripped and scrapped. :)

yes i thought of that 5 minutes after i posted,, still i think for the bigger coax, a manual cutting tool would be just as fast,,,it does look like a good machine for the smaller wire, how much???

I would think this is for when you have a bunch of identical wires to make. I got the Teledyne stripper when working with Teflon(tm) insulated wire. It works best when you have a lot of one size to make, but even for one-off it works well. I did find for normal PVC wire I have to set the temperature control as low as it will go before "off" so I don't smoke the insulation.
