Sounds neat, wonder what type bearings they ran. I had a live centre with my unimat 3 from memory about 22-26mm diameter body. I think it had 2 sealed in it same as in the one I made but smaller prob 18-20mm & quite close to the wall. It basically stopped turning one day & my first thought was how it came apart, so I held the point in the vice & gripped the shank with vice grips & leather & tapped it apart, phew

I am not at all sure what it had for bearings as it never occurred to me to disassemble it.
By the way, what did you use to do the etching or engraving on the head of your center?

My machine is a marathon 3, sometimes also called escort 3. If you search dental micromotor on ebay etc. Cost about
120 au dollars. The burr I used is an inverted cone tungsten .7mm Pretty hard to find them online. I get mine from either local dentists supplies, engraving supplies & some lapidary stores keep them. Cheers
