I've been involved (indirectly) with that twice, but ones with conveyor belts for bulk material handling not shipping containers. It arrives as a bunch of huge assemblies plus a million other pieces that are assembled on site over a period of months.

Weld and/or bolt-up the big sections together, install linkage and cables so the structure is self supporting, install counterweights so you can send the big cranes home, install the operator cab, pull/connect a bunch of cables (depending on how much can be pre-installed), install and connect hydraulic and grease lines, install the HPUs and hydraulic cylinders, install and align electric motors and gearboxes, and install the giant cable reel that supplies power and data to the machine as it travels up and down the rails. THEN when you're all done you get to spend a month or two programming and commissioning the thing, and trying to find out why the whole machine keeps cutting out and shutting off randomly.

Pro tip: old machines with simple controls and DC motors don't care much about grounding. New controls and PLCs are SUPER sensitive to grounding and weird electrical gremlins and your 40 year old corroded rails don't ground properly.
