Unless those pennies are pre 1982, they are 97.5% zinc and 2.5% copper...
Yeah they mention that at around the 2:20 mark. It's weird to me because they eliminated pennies here a few years ago, and they're quickly becoming rare. I wouldn't consider destroying pennies for a project. There's lots of scrap copper wire around if you really have your heart set on melting stuff. I'd probably just go to the metal supplier.
