Why do so many crane operators feel they have to park as far away from their pick as possible and have their booms extended all the way to the limit then lift as high as possible before swinging to lower their load.
It looked me like the boat dropped the crane. Ouch!
Too many just lack even a basic understanding of simple physics.
Well, at least he didn't drop it on another boa... Oh wait.
Is there no emergency release for the winch to drop the load?
Most cranes are not equipped with free fall on the main line The results of the drum paying out the cable uncontrolled with only the brakes to arrest the fall could be disastrous. At best they have high speed powered payout.Quote:
