Well they wanted it on the bottom didn't they I don't see the problem just hire a couple mechanics and welders and it will be good as new in a couple years or so

Those appear to be kevlar slings, very strong, but prone to failure on sharp or jagged edges when under tension a bit of slip and it will cut through the fibres which is why softeners should always be available with fabric slings of all types, IMHO.
