I worked at the last ice fired cold storage in Richgrove, CA in the 1980s. At peak heat and productivity it used 360,000 lbs ice daily, 6 trucks carrying 60,000 lbs ice, a bit over. Anyway, the floors of the storage shed attached to the cooler were trailer loading height and wooden. A box machine was mounted there. The crew made tkv boxes, which were integrated paper and wooden slats wrapped around a wooden box end. The machine shook that floor so hard it was a carnival ride. It smoothly drove a 4d nail by hydraulics and then burst apart to set the next tkv and box end combo. It was smooth on the nailing; scary on the setups.
