    Cutting circlip grooves

    My circlip grooving has always been a bit dodgy, but in this video I make up a holder and simple grinding fixture that changes my grooving entirely.

    It's a tricky task - devising something that just might be useful and looks like it should be simple to make...

    The key is the sharpening fixture. That gets the grind just right, then you just need the holders.

    The first time the Americans came across a circlip/ retaining ring, was during World War II, after they captured a German Tiger tank and disassebled it.
