Cutting a Shape from Plastic with Manual Router, as opposed to CNC

Didn't we see a post on here a bit ago of a guy punching out picks or plectrums as he called them? Could you slice and punch instead of shape and slice?

I'm not sure punching would work. I suppose it could be tried, but the material is so dang expensive and risky to experiment with.

One MORE idea:
A gorton Pantograph.
You can make one master and then by varying the arms, cut many different sizes.
It can't cut too deep (the motor is made for a tiny engraving bit), but the results are stunning.

They often go for very little because they are outdated (or, so many people think!)

Charles, thanks so much for the idea. Interesting little contraption. Unfortunately, my shop is quite small and that would take up too much room. It might be something to revisit in a few years, should we move to a new facility.
