You, only, need a rope, and a strong arm to dangle.

My neighbor had neither when he was cleaning his roof gutter, and the ladder leg sank into the ground... ripped his biceps muscle when he grabbed for the gutter.

was once in a similar situation, not a gutter but a tree limb, a long time ago. My mind told me not to let go no matter what, but my body said I'm going to punish you for that. Didn't fully rip the muscles but was months before felt fully healed.
