Not sure what to call this or how it will stand up in use, but this morning, David, who’s the delivery driver, asked me whether I knew of anything that would hold a door open as they carry furniture through. “When I was in America, “ David said, “”This guy had one....”. So perhaps there is a device that ‘s commercially available.
What happens is they have to ring the resident who buzzes the door to unlock, but to call the resident every time they have to go back to the van is annoying, or they have to put down the furniture to hold the door open, but picking up the furniture, the door shuts, before they get through!
“What about the wedges?” I asked David. (We have discussed this previously)
“what are wedges?” David had forgotten about the wedges I’d given him. Don’t get me wrong, David is a very clever chap.
Wedges are no good when there is a step. Or a cill.
So this is the best I can do at the moment. If you know of something better, please tell us.
This is a bit of spring bolted to a piece of plastic out of a folder. Curiously I could cut the plastic with snips in one direction, but not at right angles to it.
