I hear you, use a couple of straps to secure the future piece of firewood to the platform send the guys up by the stairs. That way You don't risk 2 lives or the expensive piece of furniture. Or at the very least use a proper man lift platform with railings
Never try to tell me it can't be done

I often wonder if the people taking these videos are hoping something will go wrong so they can sell them to the lawyers or insurance companies.

I suspect in this case they probably couldn't believe what these crazy lot were doing so filmed it.
The writing is Russian or Ukrainian, and doubt the lawyers there sue as readily as in the US on safety issues.

That is a tall building, how high can such a delivery be made. No elevator inside?

About 180 feet. There are aerial telescopic boom lifts that can reach a little higher than that, I think. 2 of the titans in the man lift category are Genie and JIS I once worked from the platform of a Genie at 120 ft up. and used to own 5 50ft Scissors lifts. the ratings on telescopic boom lifts are much different than hydraulic cranes they are designed to lift their rated capacity at an unrestricted extension or elevation and will not lift or lower a pound more than capacity. If you have it at full extension and load it to it's max platform rating, you can lower it to horizontal without retracting. Scarry but safe.

For some reason I don’t believe the proprietor of the furniture store holds human life in high regard. And besides, those “sofa surfers” probably wouldn’t have it any other way.
