That sort of explosive demolition works fine for brick and concrete buildings, but demolishing a huge steel structure like that makes no sense to me. They will have ended up with a mangled pile of buckled steel that will be far more dangerous and difficult to cut up and remove. The fibreglass life rafts will also be tangled up in that pile and would have been far easier to remove prior to the explosion.

What a Waste!
And why not Salvage the Useable stuff like the Lifeboats. There would have been a mountain of real good surplus equipment on that Rig. Yeah does'nt make sense. Now a mountain of dangerous tangled mangled metal that has to cut up.
