I would have voted to hide behind the bucket and throw rocks at it.

I wonder whose bright idea that was to use the excavator bucket? Probably the same person who also had a spare camera and bucket, and no clue how damaging a land mine can be!

Proof that the laws of natural selection are, in fact, only suggestions.

So... I find my self wondering how long was the excavators arm? How far back was the operator? How did they happen to find that without setting it off in the first place?

I wonder if the glass was extra duty as in "bullet proof'? I would think that regular tempered glass would have at least shattered and if it was safety glass it would have stayed in place but still broke in some fashion.
Or perhaps the mine was just over the edge of the hole enough that the berm protected the machine. Wonder what the stick and bucket looked like?

That's a hardened excavator and look at what happened!
