Just before that fellow put the rig onto the rails, that "handle" behaved more like a hand-brake of some sort. Otherwise, I'd hate to be the guy that muffed his dismount!
Well, now that I think about it, if that handle is an actual cleat I'd hate to be anybody in the trailing pack -unless singing falsetto was in your bucket list.

Quite true. A decent pile-up would have created a "Quarrymens Choir" to rival the"Vienna Boys Choir", with a certain rustic edge.
Not unlike the Monty Python Lumberjacks...perhaps.
