    Dial Indicator Holder

Dial Indicator Holder, made to mount in my Noga. For ID and OD. I know Starrett makes one but they are kind pricy. So I just made one 1/2" square steel, a few set screws, a few scraps of stainless for the rods.Dial Indicator Holder-dialholder1_1.jpgDial Indicator Holder-dialholder2_1.jpgDial Indicator Holder-dialholder3_1.jpgDial Indicator Holder-dialholder5_1.jpgDial Indicator Holder-dialholder6_1.jpgDial Indicator Holder-dialholder4_1.jpg

Nice job on the machining and the blued finish. I am looking forward to your video on bluing tool parts.

What is the approximate distance tip to tip on the part that swivels and also the approx. diameters of the spherical probe tips?

I am interested in how the swivel probe was machined. Do you use a ball turning tool for the probe tips or a custom ground form tool?

A good idea to show us your indicator, do you know that he has an ancestor without dial for centering parts you can see in 40-50's Schaublin's catalog ?

Nice tool. Isn't equivalent to a horizontal dial test indicator?

I made a somewhat similar one which fits onto my toolpost so that I can set stops at the required positions, and it's reversible so that I can install it onto either dovetail. Now I need to make a base that attaches it to the ways instead of the toolpost. The lever in your design is an especially clever feature which opens up a realm of measurement possibilities.

If you can't make it precise make it adjustable.
