Dinner fork door lock - GIF

Dinner fork door lock. I like how this is used even though the door has its own lock.

It holds against his lily-weak jiggle; put a shoulder to it! I'm thinking even 18/8 stainless will straighten right out.

Toolmaker, it's not designed to stop a determined break-in, but rather make it hard/impossible to sneak in whilst you are asleep. This was a technique "advertised" for people in hotels worried about people coming in whilst you are asleep and either robbing the room, or molesting the occupants. If someone plants a shoulder or boot to the door, the theory is there will be enough noise to wake you up.
The basis of the concern was shady hotel operators/ employees with master keys/ access cards, or crims picking locks.
