I dunno. I've had a sander with a cast metal body nearly burn my shop down before. Some dust inside ignited from a spark. I was dumping buckets of water into it and I could NOT get that fire put out. I ended up picking up the entire sander, still on fire, and running outside with it. This wooden sander is a hard pass from me there boss.

I admire the ingenuity of craftsmen constructing power tools out of wood. The very first metal lathe was made out of wood and stone, Mills, Drill presses, Band saws, Table saws, the list of tools made from wood is endless.
As long as care is taken they can be made as safe and those made out of any other materials.
I have to side with nova_robotics about the possibility of dust catching fire though.
That said It is an nice quality build.
