Hey guys, this is a simple center scribe that is used to mark your edge when making a custom knife. This will give you a target to grind your primary bevels too. It's a very basic tool, however, it has major implications on the quality of your handmade knives!
Also there are 2D CAD drawings in the description if you want to make something similar.

Thanks for the video! I no more than saw the first minute and realized that this scriber has all sorts of applications beyond knife making. Great idea!
As for the actual scriber there are options here that avoid breaking drill bits. Sewing machine needles are one possibility. You can also buy scribing bits or solid round HSS steel. The idea here is mass produced materials for the scribing point.
As for those other uses, with a slightly different cutting edge this unit could be used in wood working. The edge would need to be more blade like to cut the fibers but that is a simple me grinding project. For metal working it would be treat anywhere you need to scribe a line close to an edge.
