DIY Horizontal Metal Cutting Band Saw

I made this from a Harbor Freight porta-band band saw. It has come in very handy and is one of the most used power tools in my shop. After the video one of the upgrades I have done is to add a stop switch that will stop the saw when the cut is finished. I also originally wanted to pivot the vice in one of the bolt holes so I could make angled cuts, but the vice rubs against one of the wheels of the saw when it is tilted.

    Hope you enjoy!

    Bob

That's a very nicely done conversion, much more robust than the usual.

I have been looking at one of those saws for some time now. I like how you can use it either as a regular saw, or put it upright and use it that way. Great job, and thanks for posting.
