DIY Jig for System 32 / 32mm Shelf Pin System

This is my latest home built jig. It is a drilling guide for drilling columns of 5mm holes at 32mm centers for shelf pins. It's pretty quick and easy to make and works quite well. There are of course some improvements that can be made but for the 30 minutes of time invested in making it I got a great result.

Nice little idea. I made a guide for my router to attach it to a festool saw rail, still working on how to turn it into a shelf pin jig though.

@Rorschach - Thanks! using a router was my original plan - not sure if you watched the video or not but on my hand was written "5mm rtr" - which was a reminder to go out and buy a 5mm router bit for this very task. I would still like to have the certainty of depth of cut and perfect 90° accuracy that a plunge router would give. I assume your festool rail is not the type that has the row of holes drilled - so incrementing the position for the next cut is the challenge. I have given it some (a little) thought but not tried anything yet.

I am planning to make my own 5mm bit by grinding down a 1/4" bit.

No my rail does not have the holes, I am not sure if they were available when I bought it. So either I need another kind of indexing system, maybe something like yours using a pin into the previously drilled holes, or I might just drill a set of holes into my rail. Not sure yet.
