Dog washing ring - GIF
Dog washing ring. Looks cool, but a semicircle would be less restrictive.

A semi circle would be more versitile but different pressures might be caused and not desired.
In a local govt horticultural situation where i worked casually (in 1990's) they had 2 stop cocks feeding a very long traffic island on a hill slope of about 7 degrees, full of expensive newly planted trees around 5 metres high. With both taps on only about half the trees were watered. I was ridiculed for suggesting a loop. So I did the alterations during my lunch break and it worked perfectly. Went home 1/2 hr early.Watering now is not necessary except in extreme conditions (they are all planted in roadbase) and the trees must be about 12 or so metres hign now.

I think a semi-circle is more logical. Pressure could be assured if the 'ring' were folded into parallel. The branch would start right at the inlet.
