Nicely done! I have been thinking about adding a treadmill motor to my harbor freight bench top drillpress. That and maybe finding some way to brace and raise/lower the table. The factory motor is just to wimpy for steel. The table flex get doesn't help with precision.
What did you use for the motor controller bridge rectifier and potentiometer, or a pulse width modulation controller?
Is that an old simpson meter on the shelf? Love the build and commented on your YT channel...didn't realize it was a year ago. Inspired to try it on mine and may have another project I've been kicking around and that could use one too. Thanks for sharing this! ~PJ
Thanks PJ for your kind words, I have really enjoyed the variable speed motor and controller on my drill press some years back I did the same thing on my HF 9x20 metal lathe and wow was I in heaven more time to make chips or scarf thanks again for your comment.:welcome:
