    Drill Press Table Repair

This is not my repair or my drill press or my photo, but I saw this drill press for sale recently and thought that the idea might come in handy for anyone with a munted table full of unwanted holes. Fairly obvious to see that someone has added a steel plate to the table top and fixed it down with countersunk screws. This type of repair, with suitable machining or shimming, could also be used to correct any out of plumb between the table and the rotating shaft.
Hope that someone may get some inspiration from this idea.

That is a good repair, I did a very similar job on a rotary table some years back.

I added a plate with (104) holes (yet to be tapped for 3/8 unc) to my bebch top drill press because I simply needed a larger work surface for some of the stuff I play with. So far it's worked well for my needs. It's approximately 18" x 18" x 3/8" thick mild steel.
