I am struggling to see the attraction of living there
The final question in the video was how do you prepare for winter driving? I prepared by moving south, had enough of that cold up north, but nothing like they deal with there. I agree, I see no attraction to living there.
Insane living location. The "Heater" to unfreeze everything and to liquify the oil was - scary and the expression: "what could go wrong" jumps into my thoughts
At -18F, the seat foam in my Duramax would not compress. Just imagine what else on the vehicle is not as pliable as it needs to be to properly function or not destroy itself (CV boots, seals, hoses, etc). These guys are much colder than that.
Two things they don't have there is garages and 12 volt defrosters...

The occasional dog sled and ample ice fishing too.
