We used rolls like that at a company I used to work for. The company I worked for made the molded acoustic panels that go inside the trunk of a car.

Raw fiber is dumped into a hopper (like thick cotton candy) and then goes through a series of rolls with varying amounts of pressure and through rolls like this to process the material before it goes into a massive loom. Those teeth will cut you to shreds. It's very similar to razor wire. They have to be replaced whenever they show excessive wear or get a lot of build up (think melted plastic). They are wound onto the rolls with a lot of tension and fastened into place as one continuous thread. The rolls we used were well over ten foot long (or wide, depending on how you look at it).

If you want to see a mess, let something go through there (like a lost wrench or someone's keys) and break that wire while the machine is running. It goes everywhere and is a terrible chore to remove, not to mention the obvious cut hazard.

Now you wouldn't be going to make pyrolized plastic, diesel would you?

And what are you going to do with that much melted plastic Frank? (And I bet you were waiting for someone to ask)

200#s of plastic bottles would pay to take them to a state that gives you nickel for a bottle return.
