Well that is certainly a easy way, I'd like to see the truck backing up to the stop spot. How often did they miss it?

one would hope there is a bump stop cast as part of the cantilever roadway. - as long as it is half the height of the wheel, the truck can't go over it accidentally. there is some thing similar in mine tip heads over crusher bins.
